Diagram Versioning in Confluence: Integrated Revision History with draw.io, Not Supported by Gliffy

draw.io header

One of the advantages of Confluence is that its revision history supports audits: Each version of a page is always visible, comparable with other versions, and an earlier version can be restored, if required. There are many scenarios in which this functionality is useful, or even necessary.

But what happens with diagrams that are embedded in Confluence pages?

draw.io and Gliffy are the two most mature add-ons that support professional diagramming within Confluence. But the difference in how diagram versions are handled is massive: draw.io supports full version control integrated with Confluence’s version history, but Gliffy only has rudimentary version control within the diagram itself (not integrated with the version history in Confluence).

Duplicate Content Defender for Confluence: Preventing redundant work and content

When creating a new Confluence page (specifically, when entering the page title), the Duplicate Content Defender automatically searches the instance (starting once the fourth character in the title line has been entered) for potential matching content and displays these potentially redundant pages. DCD references up to seven existing pages with an option to display additional results. The search includes both the page title and all of the page content. Search terms found in the titles are highlighted in bold.

InstaPrinta 2.0: Now with full Integration in JIRA Agile

In a previous article, we have introduced the InstaPrinta by //SEIBERT/MEDIA and the functions of the JIRA plugin. Our JIRADev team has now released InstaPrinta 2.0 and we would like to dive a bit deeper into the actual features. InstaPrinta is a JIRA plugin for printing issues directly from JIRA and JIRA Agile on handy card format (i.e. DIN A6). Individual and various issues can be sent to the printer and saved as a PDF. In JIRA, issue view and issue search are extended by a menu item, that offers a choice to print or create a PDF.
