We have all dealt with conflicts and their solutions in person – but what about conflicts that arise online? Can we solve these conflicts with our existing behavioral patterns or do we need new strategies?
Last year, Facebook started offering a business solution called, Workplace by Facebook. It’s a variation of the social network of the same name, but for use in the office. Companies can easily register, calculate costs, and quickly get up and running.
But what does the term “workplace” really mean in this case? What does Workplace by Facebook (referred to as Workplace hereafter) actually offer companies?
In nearly every type of company, there are employees who are on the road often and can’t regularly be in the office. This can include sales representatives, consultants, commercial workers, and more. Individuals who need to be mobile have one thing in common: they’re usually on their own when it comes to staying up to date with company information. And information doesn’t just flow one way. The mobile app for Linchpin intranets helps such employees in real-life situations get necessary information quickly and easily. This can benefit the entire organization in several ways.

Today, MEYER WERFT has the most modern shipbuilding facilities in the world.

Employee surveys may have some hurdles that can be annoying, or sometimes downright obstructive. We are currently working on employee surveys for a new intranet project, and this is my contribution to the conceptualization phase. If you are in a similar situation, the following thoughts and examples may be useful.
The intranet started its triumphant progress about 20 years ago. However, it’s only recently that corporations started to focus on their intranets’ true stakeholders: the employees. Not long after the emergence of intranets in organizations, those responsible for them started to ask what a modern intranet actually is. After all, no one wants to set up an outdated system that employees don’t want to use. Today, in the times of digital transformation and Generation Y, intranets are at least as important as 10 or 15 years ago. But what is a modern intranet nowadays? Is a ‘social intranet’ with user profiles, status updates, communities and chats sufficient?
