Diagrams in Confluence and JIRA: draw.io versus Gliffy

draw.io allows the creation of a diverse range of diagrams within Confluence and JIRA via an intuitive and responsive interface. Possible diagrams are flow charts, network diagrams, org charts, UML diagrams, mind maps and many more. draw.io is based on a market leading diagram technology that has been developed by JGraph in 2005 and therefore has matured a lot by now. In 2012 the application draw.io was created and is available as a plugin on the Atlassian Marketplace, directly offered by //SEIBERT/MEDIA.

The Atlassian Foundation and Atlassian’s Crowdsourcing Project makeadiff.org

Atlassian invests part of their success into the Atlassian Foundation, supporting non-profit organizations: One percent of the enterprises turnover is invested in charity projects. Atlassian employees are encouraged to dedicate one percent of their work time to volunteer work. Furthermore, all revenues of the ten dollar starter licenses goes straight to the Atlassian Foundation.

Social Intranet with Linchpin – Personalized Global Navigation

The Navigation Menu Editor plugin is one of the most visible part of the LINCHPIN social intranet. It offers a user specific navigation, based on the Custom User Profile Plugin. Depending on language, location, department, projects or other criteria, the navigation menu will adjust accordingly. Confluence – Update pages to reduce redundancies

Working with Confluence, you notice how fast the content of your wiki is constantly expanding. Eventually some content needs to be updated due to new information or developments. The question that might arise: Shall I create a new page with new content or rather update the existing page? In this video, Martin Seibert from //SEIBERT/MEDIA explains the advantages of updating a page rather than creating a new one. This approach might involve a bit of work and time but reduces redundancies and helps communicating updates to the existing followers of the old content.

Quality assurance: Automated front end tests with Selenium IDE

Or: An interactive feature suddenly no longer functions after maintenance work on the code. These and similar scenarios are well-known to web developers. Therefore, it is indispensable for solid high-quality web applications, to run an acceptance test on a regular basis and make use of systematic bug tracking.

Real integration: The interaction of JIRA, Stash and Bamboo

Are Trello and Basecamp Jira Alternatives?

In this video podcast, Martin Seibert and Alex Boerger discuss Trello and Basecamp as JIRA alternatives in the enterprise.
