As the infrastructural basis for modern business software, the Cloud has what it takes to transform working life for the better, helping organizations achieve greater flexibility, productivity, and efficiency in an increasingly complex competitive landscape. The outcome of a recent customer survey shows that these claims are not just marketing slogans and sales promises, but legitimate results.
Some time ago, Atlassian asked organizations that had completed the move to the Cloud and gained reliable experience in the new environment about their insights. Almost 500 individuals from 100 organizations took part in this survey and it's clear as day: working with Atlassian solutions in the Cloud offers teams great value.
The majority of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Bitbucket customers that provided feedback came to the clear conclusion that the Cloud products are preferable to the classic Server or Data Center versions. Let's take a look at the results in detail.
Productivity
In the Cloud, teams experience a significant productivity boost. Features such as robust automation and extensive template libraries help speed up the completion of tasks, reduce redundant administrative tasks, and promote focusing on valuable work.
Across all sectors, the growth in productivity is estimated to be at least 27%, with teams from certain industries reporting significantly higher figures:
Cross-Functional collaboration
One of the core tasks of Atlassian solutions is to promote collaboration in teams. This value proposition is better fulfilled in the Cloud versus on-premise environments. Functions such as Smart Links, cross-product search, and @-mentions support cross-functional collaboration both within as well as across teams.
Since migrating to the Cloud, teams from IT to Product Development and Marketing have reported a staggering 47% improvement in collaboration.
Data-driven decisions
Managers and executives in organizations strive to make data-driven decisions. However, it is often difficult and time-consuming to find the right data. With tools such as Atlassian Analytics, the desired data can be aggregated much faster and utilized in a meaningful way. This helps ensure decisions are based on a sound foundation and actually take into account the reality of the organization.
In the Cloud, companies across all industries are seeing a significant improvement in their ability to make data-driven decisions faster.
Employee Engagement
Modern tools and innovative technologies help to motivate and retain employees, as well as allow them to be more productive. Now more than ever, employee engagement is crucial to retaining talent and for organizations to remain attractive to their employees. Atlassian's Cloud solutions deliver seamless functionality, customized workflows, and modern AI and automation technologies that help people achieve their goals faster.
A remarkable 82% of the surveyed customers say they have seen a positive development in employee engagement since moving to the Cloud.
Delivery of code
Moving to the Cloud not only helps companies decrease costs, many can also increase the frequency and quality of their product releases. Organizational growth is fast becoming a key benefit of Cloud adoption.
Development, product, and IT teams alike report that the Atlassian Cloud enables them to deliver higher-quality code, faster.
Service delivery
Successful organizations are characterized by excellent customer service. Atlassian Cloud solutions such as Jira Service Desk make it easier for organizations to deliver higher levels of service, satisfying both internal stakeholders and external customers alike.
The customers surveyed reported that service delivery was accelerated by approximately two-thirds since migrating to the Cloud.
Context switching
The constant change of tools and contexts is a nemesis of productive work. For this reason, Atlassian provides many deep integrations between its products and other third-party solutions so that teams can find the right context in the systems they prefer to use.
Depending on the industry, respondents experience a decrease in context switching of between 21 and 56%.
Time to value
Yes, a migration project from classic on-premise systems to the Cloud can be quite complex and strenuous, especially in large companies with very large instances. However, the effort pays off - especially as the vast majority of migrations run smoothly and without major issues.
82% of companies indicated they benefited from a Cloud migration, with tangible advantages within six months, almost a quarter after just four weeks.
