Starting with HipChat for Mac 3.0, Atlassian began to roll out a new version of HipChat that looks a whole lot different. At first you’ll notice it’s lighter and cleaner, but there’s a lot more going on:
Emoticon autocomplete: open parentheses and the autocomplete window opens
Local time in 1-to-1 chats: see the local time of your chat partner
Unread message counts: easily see the messages you have not read
New presence icons: improved icons
New search: faster search with results showing up in the app
