What started as a hackathon project at //SEIBERT/MEDIA, has become an alpha version that is available on the Atlassian Marketplace. The plugin Microblogging for Confluence is the first mircoblog extension for Atlassian's social collaboration platform and therefore a solution that allows a seamless and direct information exchange with the team within the wiki - without leaving Confluence.
Optional test on test instances of //SEIBERT/MEDIA

Usage at space level: Microblogging for Confluence is connected to Confluence-Spaces (with the respective access restrictions)
Confluence editor: Users write their microblog-posts and comments with the familiar, user-friendly Confluence-Editor including all its features
Feedback by clicking: For posts and comments, the plugin offers a “Like”-button, which is common in social networks
Multimedia-Integration: The widget-connector automatically converts multimedia-links (Youtube, Vimeo, etc.) directly into widgets for direct playback
Focused discussion: You can directly address users with @-mentions and include them in the discussion
Findability: Microblog contents are indexed by the Confluence search and marked as an own content type. (For example you can explicitly search for Microblog content)
What is going to happen?
At the moment the development team is collecting feedback of test users of the alpha-version, which will influence the development of the more stable beta-version that will be suitable for a first productive use. The next concrete steps are defined and announced next April based on the feedback received.
