How Seibert Uses Loom For Content Creation, Async Meetings & More

We prioritize effective and efficient communication at Seibert Group to support our international and remote teams. Loom, a powerful video messaging tool, has become indispensable to our workflows. Whether for creating engaging content, hosting asynchronous meetings, or collaborating across time zones, Loom enhances how we work and connect. Here’s a detailed look at how we use Loom in various scenarios within the Seibert Universe.

What is Loom?

Loom is a video recording tool that allows users to capture their screen, webcam, or both. It provides a quick way to share visual information without needing a live meeting – this tool is the heart of asynchronous communication. Users can create short videos to explain concepts, demonstrate features, or communicate updates with just a few clicks.  Seibert Solutions relies heavily on the Loom Chrome extension, our go-to for ease of use and accessibility. Replace Meeting with Loom

We’ve found Loom to be invaluable for replacing traditional meetings. Instead of scheduling live stand-ups, updates, or presentations, team members can create videos and share them through Slack, Google Chat, or other collaboration tools. This approach saves time and eliminates scheduling conflicts, which are especially challenging for global teams.

For example, during our recent company quarterly review held in Germany, team members in the United States faced challenges presenting live due to the time zone difference. Instead of missing their feedback, they recorded a Loom video. Their recording was then shared and watched live during the review meeting, ensuring their input was included despite the time difference.

Using Loom for Pitching and Sharing Ideas

Loom makes idea-sharing intuitive and actionable. At Seibert, we use Loom to pitch and share ideas. Here are just a few examples:

  • Document walkthroughs: Record a video walkthrough of your document, such as a Confluence page, and include a clear call-to-action (CTA) to guide viewers to the page and encourage collaboration. This approach not only provides helpful guidance for viewers but also ensures your thoughts and ideas are clearly understood. By offering this clarity, you enable others to contribute effectively and bring their best to the discussion.
  • Recording Canvas: Use Loom to jot down ideas and discuss them visually. Use Loom’s templates or customize colors and layouts to match your brand. These features help us share ideas efficiently while maintaining a professional presentation.

Product Demos and Presentations

We regularly use Loom to record product demos, such as for Rovo or other Atlassian-related tools. Loom is also ideal for recording Google Slides, Keynote, or PowerPoint presentations.
